This project work covers the design and construction of a radial piston pump. The pump is designed for 16 pistons to counter 9 pistons used for the model and a single row, thus making it more efficient. The pump performs its functions based on the principle of reciprocation of the pistons as a result of centrifugal acting on the pistons, which is due to the rotary motion of the shaft.
During the execution of the project; the design and construction, due consideration were given to head loss and volumetric flow rate.
Lastly, PVC materials that are hard enough to withstand wear and heat are used for some parts except the drive shaft the reason being that moulds being used can produce as many parts as possible in a shortest period of time.
